Soccer Returns to Ottawa! Registration Open for all Leagues
10 June 2021 @ 1:51 PM by Andrew Park

Hello Footyseveners,

We've got great news! The provincial government has started it's reopening plan and a return to league games is on the horizon. With the positive trends across Ontario, we're looking to July 2nd for the resumption of league games.

With that in mind, all team and individual registrations are now open. All spring and summer leagues will be played outdoors at Immaculata High School, Carleton University or the University of Ottawa (see homepage for specific league locations). Click here for availability, all the details and to register. As always, you can secure your team space with a 250.00 deposit.

COED - Monday (10+ Spaces Remaining), Wednesday (5 Spaces Remaining), Thursday (4 Spaces Remaining), Friday (9 Spaces Remaining), Sunday (5 Spaces Remaining)

MENS - Monday (10+ Spaces Remaining), Tuesday (10+ Spaces Remaining), Wednesday (5 Spaces Remaining), Thursday (4 Spaces Remaining), Friday (9 Spaces Remaining), Sunday (7 Spaces Remaining)

Rule Changes

We're happy to say that with a return to play, there will be some adjustments back to normal game play and procedures.

  • Heading the ball is back. There will be no restrictions on heading the soccer ball in any league game.
  • Defensive walls return. We will allow for walls to be set up for defending free kicks
  • As we receive more direction from the public health, we provide further clarification on other changes to our covid rules.

Pickup Soccer / Training Session

Looking to kill some time between now and the return to play? We are offering training sessions, soccer golf and other programming for the remainder of June. Click here and check out our Pickup Soccer website for all the details.

Youth Leagues - Limited Spaces

We launched our new Li'l Sambas kids program a couple of months ago and had an incredible response with over 300 kids already signed up to play in the spring program at Immaculata. We'll be partnering with Futuro Soccer Academy and those of you who have watched the Futuro Academy kids train before or after your Footy Sevens game will already have been amazed at the level of technique and attention to detail at each session. Those same core principles will be adapted to each age level to give an unrivaled start in the game for both beginners and kids with a little experience.

You can find full details of all of the programs and register  over on the new Li'l Sambas Soccer Website
